Chad Fribley
Director of Instruction
Chad has been immersed in golf for four decades and has devoted three decades to the golf industry. Throughout his journey, he has held positions at prestigious locations, including Kapalua Resort, The Golf Club at Newcastle, PGA West, The Hideaway, La Quinta Resort, and Chardonnay Golf Club. Since 2017, Chad has been sharing his passion for the game through teaching, providing over 5,000 lessons. His golf journey includes competing at the high school level, playing Division 1 college golf at New Mexico State University, and having a professional career. He has participated in the Korn Ferry Tour, NGA Hooters Tour, Cascade Tour, Golden State Tour, and Dakotas Tour. Notably, Chad boasts impressive achievements, including 25 professional wins, four course records, advancement to the US Open sectionals five times, and competing in PGA Tour Q-School five times. Nowadays, he finds joy in teaching golfers of all skill levels while sharing his wealth of knowledge from his experiences as a player, caddy, and instructor. He particularly enjoys teaching the short game, as it offers the greatest opportunity to impact overall scores. In his lessons, Chad utilizes video analysis and a Full Swing launch monitor for enhanced learning.
Chanlee Ivey
Head Golf Professional
Chanlee teaches at Persimmon Country Club with the belief that there is no perfect swing — only the swing that fits you. Her lessons are fun, confidence-building, and focused on skills that transfer to the course. She also coaches the mental side of the game, knowing that every golfer thinks and learns differently. Chanlee especially enjoys working with women and beginners and helping new golfers get started. She is an LPGA Class A Professional.

Steve brings a unique blend of competitive playing experience, educational expertise, and a lifelong passion for teaching to his role as a golf professional. Introduced to the game by his grandparents at John Day Golf Course, Steve grew up as a multi-sport athlete and developed a deep appreciation for both the athletic and analytical sides of golf.
Steve competed professionally on numerous mini-tours, including the Canadian Tour and the Nike Tour in the early 1990s. He also achieved international recognition in Speed Golf, where he became a World Champion—an accomplishment that reflects his athleticism, efficiency, and mastery of the game.
In addition to his playing career, Steve enjoyed a successful career as a mathematics educator, a background that strongly influences his instructional approach. He has coached high school golf teams, conducted junior camps and clinics at Arrowhead Golf Club, and helped develop players of all ages and skill levels. His teaching philosophy emphasizes building skills from the short game outward, focusing on fundamentals, clarity, and long-term improvement.
Steve is a two-time Oregon Senior PGA Player of the Year and has earned Coach of the Year honors for two separate golf programs. He has also guided numerous players who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level and beyond.
Currently completing his PGA credentials, Steve is a PGA Associate and is dedicated to continuing his professional development while serving golfers through fun, high-quality instruction, mentorship, and a genuine love for the game.
